Alison Doody
Alison Doody (born 11 November 1966) is a famous Irish actress and model. Alison Doody made her feature film debut as the Bond actress with the film A View to a Kill, (1985). Then she was in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade in 1989. Doody portrayed Nazi sympathetic archaeologist Elsa Schneider. Siobhan Donnevan's role in A Prayer for the Dying (1997), Charlotte Taffin (1988) as well as Rebecca Flannery Major League II (1994) are other roles. Doody started modeling after being offered by a professional photographer. This led to an enviable career as a commercial model. Doody strove to avoid the glamour of nude roles this was the principle she applied in her acting. Doody was offered a tiny part as Jenny Flex for 1985's A View to a Kill after she was noticed by the director who cast her. Doody was named one of the twelve most promising young actors in the year 1986 by John Willis Screen World. 38. Doody had a non-speaking role in the 1987 television version of The Secret Garden appearing as Archibald Craven's wife Lilias in the movie of his dreams. In the Jim Henson fantasy episode The Storyteller in 1988, Doody played Sapsorrow along with John Hurt Dawn French Jennifer Saunders. She played opposite Pierce Brosnan in the film Taffin (1988) before taking probably her most high-profile part ever as Austrian Nazi-sympathiser and archaeologist Dr. Elsa Schneider in 1989's Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade as a co-star with Harrison Ford. The film also starred Sean Connery as Indy's father Doody has acted alongside three actors in the role of James Bond. Doody was a co-star in the year 1991 alongside Jonathan Pryce opposite the British miniseries Selling Hitler, which was inspired by the publication fraud known as the Hitler Diaries. Then, she moved to Hollywood. The actress later became Flannery her agent as well as partner for Major League II. She had been chosen as the replacement for Cybill Shepherd who was L'Oreal's first spokeswoman. After nearly a decade from the stage Doody came back to acting, and acted in a tiny role in 2003 British comedy movie The Actors with Michael Caine playing herself in an awards ceremony scene. She was in the film with Patrick Swayze, in the 2004 TV film version of King Solomon's Mines. Doody had a minor role in Danny Dyer's movie The Rapture (2010). She later guest starred in RTE's medical drama The Clinic and was set to appear in a remake of the classic horror film The Asphyx but the project was later put on hold. Pam Jefferson was her character in the E4 comedy Beaver Falls for two seasons. She appeared in We Still Kill the Old Way (2014). The 21st of November, 2018, she was honored by the Almeria Tierra de Cine award as well as an award in the Almeria Walk of Fame.
